Katydid Up Close

An extreme macro of a katydid's head and impossibly long antennae in profile, a bead of red eye glinting against pure black. Alien, elegant and beautifully lit. Fun fact: Katydids "hear" through ears on their front legs and "sing" by rubbing their wings together — and their antennae can be longer than their entire body, among the longest of any insect relative to size.
