The White-throated Kingfisher

A white-throated kingfisher poses on a branch, chocolate head, snowy bib, turquoise wings and a heavy coral-red bill all glowing. Big, bold and gorgeous. Fun fact: Despite the name, this kingfisher rarely fishes — it's a versatile hunter of grasshoppers, lizards, frogs and even small snakes, which is why you'll often see it far from any water.
